As part of Grief Awareness Week, staff are reminded that the university has support in place for those who are going through a bereavement.
The university’s EAP VIVUP have a confidential helpline and counselling available for staff. They also have a workbook on bereavement with an audio version available.
The university’s multi-faith Chaplaincy Team are on hand to listen and provide support. You can also request a series of confidential sessions with a Staff Wellbeing Coach.
You can find the university’s bereavement policy here. If you are currently experiencing difficulties following a bereavement, either in work or ahead of returning to work, we would strongly encourage you to discuss this openly with your manager so that you can work together to overcome these.
