A Prestigious Award for Marian Gwyn
Dr Marian Gwyn, who is an Honorary Research Fellows with the School of History, Law and Social Sciences, was recently presented with an award from the First Minister of Wales for her extensive contribution to Black History in Wales. Marian is active in researching various aspects of Black History in Wales, from matters linked to slavery, to stately homes and estates, to educating modern audiences of important historical elements.
In response to the award, Marian said, ‘I genuinely wasn’t expecting it’.
Her excellent work is further evidenced by her being awarded a £100,000 grant from the Welsh Government to support local museums on their delivery of the Race Equality Action Plan.
We are very lucky to have such an Honorary Research Fellow as part of our School.
