Bangor historian on legacy of Tony Benn
Dr Andrew Edwards, Dean of Arts and Humanities and Senior Lecturer in Modern History at Bangor, has published a piece for BBC History magazine on the legacy of the left-wing Labour stalwart, Tony Benn, who died on March 14th this year.
Dr Edwards explained that Benn was an increasingly rare example of a ‘conviction politician’ – a much admired trait by Bangor History students – whose views on issues such as racism and war ‘struck a chord with a disillusioned and politically apathetic public.’
