PhD candidate Anne scoops University Impact Award
Congratulations to Anne Collis, a PhD student in the School of Social Sciences, who has been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Impact Award for Postgraduate Research Students.
Anne Collis receives the Impact Award from Vice Chancellor, Professor John Hughes
Anne, from Bangor, received her award at Bangor University’s Impact & Innovation Awards on Thursday, 3rd December. Now in their third year, the Awards recognise outstanding research and enterprise activities from across the institution which have succeeded in benefiting the wider economy and society.
The Impact Award acknowledges the extent to which doctoral students’ have engaged with the external community – including the public, practitioners and businesses – to generate research that has a real impact outside the university.
The other shortlisted candidates were:
- Sarobidy Rakotonarivo, School of Environment, Natural Resources and Geography: ‘International’ category
- Catherine Sharp, School of Psychology: ‘Cultural and Societal’ category
- Matthias Wurz, School of Music: ‘Cultural and Societal’ category
Anne is in the second year of her PhD, and her research focuses on exploring policy making in Wales in relation to citizens’ voices and consultation methods.
