Music
Mud, tents, portaloos and the world's biggest music stars - nobody does music festivals like Britain. If you love music, you won't want to miss festival season in Britain.
Browse the online festival calendars (below) to pick one that takes your fancy!
Camping: Most music festivals include weekend camping. The Glastonbury Festival and the Passport Dairy websites have good checklists of what to take with you. (Toilet paper and wet-wipes are essential!). If you haven't been camping before, read this ' Beginners Guide to Camping'. If you need to buy a tent, sleeping bag and other camping equipment, you could try Millets on the High Street, Bangor, or you could visit the village of Betws-Y-Coed where you will find several outdoor shops.
Volunteering: Lots of UK students volunteer at music festivals in the Summer. Work usually includes litter-picking, car park duties etc. Every festival is different, but you normally pay for the ticket in advance, work a few hours each day at the festival, and then get a refund on your ticket after you have worked the required hours. For more information see the individual festival websites or see Oxfam Festival Stewarding.
