Launched in 2020 by Universities Wales, the Global Wales scholarship programme supports international students wishing to study at postgraduate level at a Welsh University in 2021.
Forrest Lancaster, from Maine in the USA, will receive £10,000 towards his tuition fees for his chosen MA in Celtic Archaeology.
Forrest fell in love with Wales in 2016 when he first visited the country:
“Since childhood, I have avidly devoured historic texts, legends and the mythology of the Celts. My more recent studies have led me to write and produce a series of historical videos on forgotten ancient sites, country houses and castles.

With study pathways available in archaeology and heritage my studies will allow me to gain the skills I will need to directly interface with future careers in teaching or the heritage sector.”

“We look forward to maintaining longstanding relationships with our scholars long after they graduate, building lasting relationships into the future”.
Global Wales scholarships are available to students from Vietnam, India, the USA and the European Union with the aim of developing long term educational links and partnerships.
Over 20,000 overseas students currently study at Welsh universities each year.
