The 2023 National Student Survey results for Bangor University have been published.
Seven out of 10 of our students are satisfied with the quality of their course.
Our strongest performing programmes for student satisfaction, achieving 100% satisfaction, are in Marine Biology/Oceanography, Zoology with Conservation, Geography and Product Design. Student satisfaction was also above 90% in Accounting, Design Studies, English Language, Finance, Forestry and Arboriculture, Midwifery and Welsh Studies.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, Professor Nichola Callow said,
"We are very pleased to see very high satisfaction amongst students in a significant number of subject areas. We take all student feedback seriously and are particularly pleased that investment in, for example, the student digital experience has led to a substantial increase in satisfaction rates in this area. It’s also clear that students value the collaboration between the Students’ Union and the University.”
The NSS is conducted annually across universities in the UK and gathers opinions from final-year students about their time in higher education. The 2023 NSS survey, which differs in terms of question set and scoring scale compared with previous years, consists of 27 questions. It covers areas such as teaching and learning, marking and assessment, academic support, organisation and management, student voice, mental wellbeing services.
Bangor University would like to thank every student who took the time to complete the NSS and tell us about their experience.
