Dr Luis Vallejo DSP Centre Post-doctoral Research Officer presents his research at CLEO 2024
On 7th May 2024 Dr Luis Vallejo presented his successful research poster presentation titled “Seamlessly Converged Optical-Wireless Access Networks Using Free-Running Laser-enabled mmWave Signal Generation and RF Envelope Detection” at CLEO 2024, USA.
Abstract: A seamlessly integrated optical-wireless access network without any DSPs at intermediate nodes is proposed and experimentally demonstrated, achieving >1.67Gbit/s/channel dynamic, continuous BBU-UE data flows over 25 km fiber and 5 m @38GHz mmWave wireless links using low-cost free-running laser-based mmWave photonic generations and RF envelope detector.
CLEO (Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics) is the premier international forum for scientific and technical optics, uniting the fields of lasers and opto-electronics by bringing together all aspects of laser technology, from basic research to industry applications.
