Llangefni Scouts Explore Chinese New Year Traditions with Fun Workshops!
Llangefni Beaver and Cub Scouts had a fantastic time celebrating Chinese New Year with creative activities hosted by Bangor University’s Confucius Institute.
The Scouts got hands-on with lantern making and paper cutting, designing their own colourful decorations while learning about the traditions behind them. They also enjoyed an engaging presentation on Chinese New Year customs, discovering the stories of zodiac animals, the meaning of red envelopes, and the importance of family celebrations.
Katie Coburn from 1st Llangefni Scouts shared her enthusiasm for the event, saying:
"The children loved the session—it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was a great opportunity for them to learn some basic Chinese phrases and explore Chinese culture through hands-on activities. They were engaged throughout and really enjoyed the experience."
The event was a fun and educational way for the Scouts to explore Chinese culture, sparking creativity and inspiring curiosity about global traditions!
