2016 Bangor Science Festival Success
This year’s Hidden Worlds Exhibition was the biggest ever with over 800 people visiting Bangor University’s Brambell Building on Saturday 12th March between 10am and 4pm for Bangor Science Festival’s flagship event.
Student intern and Hidden Worlds Organiser this year was Bangor University third year philosophy and religion student Michael Jordan who said: “We are thrilled that all the hard work has been worth it. We had more student volunteers than ever this year, all of whom were passionate about their area of science and keen to engage with the general public, the feedback we have received from the general public has been very complimentary.”
The Vice-Chancellor of Bangor University also gave a special interview for Bangor Science Festival with Michael Jordan, (here):
The Science Festival also boasted a geology walk, a talk on electric cars, the launch of a clothes recycling initiative “Love Your Clothes”, student competitions and careers events as well as a post graduate open day and chemistry and maths workshops.
Stevie Scanlan, one of the Festival organisers said: “It has been a very busy week for us here at Bangor University and it’s been great to see so many of our Students and colleagues getting involved with events. The festival will run between the 10th and 19th March next year, so save the date now as we are already planning exciting events and competitions for next year.”
