Bangor and Pontio: a Global Bloomsday Hit

Earlier this week, as part of an international event, Global Bloomsday, Pontio teamed up with Bangor University's Schools of English and Music to produce a wonderful performance of the Sirens chapter of Irish author James Joyce's book Ulysses. The 24-hour event, which involves live readings of Ulysses by teams from 25 world cities, including New York, Beijing, Sao Paolo,  Tokyo, London, Dublin and Paris, was streamed live on the internet. Bangor's production was posted on the Global Bloomsday webpage as a highlight of the day. Since then, the performance, which can be seen here  has been a big hit, viewed by more than 800 people around the world, more than that of any other participating city except Dublin.
