Bangor rated one of the best in the UK for student satisfaction
For the third year running, Bangor University has been ranked in the top 10 of the UK’s non-specialist Universities, according to the latest annual National Student Survey (NSS).
The National Student Survey, a poll of over 330,000 graduating students at from UK universities, provides the most comprehensive feedback on the student experience at each institution.
This year, of all the Universities that offer a broad range of subjects, Bangor is ranked 9th in the UK, with an overall satisfaction rate of 88%.
Professor Oliver Turnbull, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Teaching & Learning, said:
“Bangor University has been providing excellent teaching and strong support for students for more than 130 years, and I’m delighted to see that the results of the survey yet again reflect this.
“The fact that we have been ranked in the top 10 of UK Universities for three years in succession proves that students at Bangor are delighted with their choice of university.
“These findings are also valuable for future students, who will make decisions about University places over the next few weeks."
Professor Carol Tully, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Students, said: “By working together with our students and ‘Undeb Bangor’ the Students’ Union, we’re able to constantly improve what we do, providing students with a great experience and a supportive environment where they are also challenged academically and personally.
“This means that each individual has the opportunity to develop to their maximum potential, and it’s great to see that students rate their experience at Bangor so highly.”
Bangor University’s overall satisfaction rate of 88% is above the UK average of 84%, and that of Wales at 85%.
Professor Turnbull added: “Our commitment to our students, and the great experience they have at Bangor is very much the result of a team effort by all our staff. I would like to thank each and every one of them for everything they do to support the students, and I would also like to thank our recent graduates for giving our University such positive feedback.”
Bangor University has also been awarded a Gold Standard in the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework.
