Bangor Students Get Fit for Business!
Twelve Bangor students from a range of academic Schools at the University took part in a dynamic Business Bootcamp on 25th June.
The bootcamp was facilitated by two external experts, Tim Ashcroft, an entrepreneur and experienced business mentor from Cheshire who is currently supporting many final year students and graduates from Bangor University who are starting a business, and Mike Chitty, a renowned leader in the development of young entrepreneurs and teams.
The session comprised two parts - ‘So you want to start a business?’ - a down to earth look at what is involved in starting your business, and an interactive session on ‘A Toolkit for Entrepreneurs’ – tools and tips for budding entrepreneurs to give them the best chance of surviving the business start-up jungle!
This free event was organised by the B-Enterprising Programme in the Careers & Employability Service and funded by the Welsh Government.
Self employment or freelance working gives you the option of being your own boss, doing what you love and taking control of your own career. These sessions are a great opportunity to focus on the knowledge, toolkits and skills needed to ensure a successful foundation.
There will be another opportunity to attend a similar bootcamp on 25th July 2012 which will be open to all Bangor University students and recent graduates living in Wales. Keep an eye on the B-enterprising website and on our Facebook page (B-Enterprising Bangor) for further details.
