Bangor Students strike a pose!
Bangor University has brought together students from across the world to star in one of its key publications, the 2012 University prospectus. The prospectus which is hot off the press is already being handed out to prospective students in Higher Education Fairs throughout the UK and overseas.
A must have guide for anyone interested in studying at Bangor, the prospectus includes all the latest information about courses, accommodation, student life, sports facilities and the student support available at the University.
Appearing on the Prospectus cover are Annabel Rosier, a second year Psychology with Neuropsychology student who is originally from Israel; Steven Christian from Rochford in Essex who is a 3rd year Zoology with Animal Behaviour student and 20 year old Dominic Malgeri from Cleveleys, Lancashire, who is in the final year of a Theology and Religious Studies degree.
Describing his experiences of studying at Bangor, Dominic said, “I think Bangor and the surrounding area are beautiful. It is so scenic and never gets boring. In Bangor itself, everything is so close; you never have to walk more than 20 minutes to wherever you need to be. And when walking through town or to lectures you bump into so many people you know from societies, lectures, halls – it really brightens your day.”
He added, “I had loads of fun on the photoshoot and made loads of friends too. It was interesting too see how the shoots for the prospectus are done because as a student, through college and university you see so many prospectus photos and never give them much though. Now I look at them and think "yeah that's probably the third take!”
23 year old Annabel Rosier said, “Seeing my photo in the published prospectus was fantastic. I wasn’t expecting to have that many pictures, let alone be on the cover page! I’m really honoured to represent Bangor. A lot of my friends tell me they've seen my pictures in the prospectus or on the website, I feel famous!"
Also featured in the Prospectus are Julianne Boulton from Wattala in Sri Lanka who is studying Zoology with Conservation, and Elena Neophytou from Cyprus, who is studying Psychology.
Julianne said, “I enjoyed the photo shoot very much and made lots of new friends, which was great. “I was very happy to see my photo in the published Prospectus and was very eager to show it to my parents and brother.”
Elena added, “I took part in two of the university photo shoots and both times were a lot of fun! I had the chance to splash about in Padarn Lake near Llanberis and eat ice cream in the beautiful sunlight as well as have my photo taken around the University itself.
“It felt amazing to finally get the prospectus and see my picture in it, it was a sort of "proof" of my link with Bangor University, and it’s exciting to think that prospective students will see my picture as a representative of the students and the student life in Bangor!
“Being a student at the university and living in Bangor has been the best time of my life. It's an incredibly beautiful place, it offers everything you could ever need, and I very much intend to stay in the area for as long as possible. “
