Bangor to host Welsh National Moot Competition
Bangor University will welcome law students from across the country this weekend as it hosts the Welsh National Moot Competition.
Teams from Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Swansea, the University of South Wales and the Open University will travel to Bangor to battle it out for the coveted prize on Sunday, 29 March.
Representing Bangor Law School will be Ali Haque and Jessica Isaacs, who hope to replicate the success of Adam Gulliver and Aaron Clegg, who clinched the prize for Bangor in 2014.
Sponsored by LexisNexis, the event will place in Bangor University’s new £25,000 moot courtroom. The illustrious bench of judges will be chaired by Sir Roderick Evans, former Presiding Judge for Wales, and will include Adam Antoszkiw, Solicitor at Gray and Co LLP; Hefin Rees QC, Thirty Nine Essex Street Chambers; Hugh Davis, Senior Partner at Carter Vincent LLP; Richard Williams, Solicitor at Gamlins; David Darlington, Solicitor at Fielding Porter LLP; Liam Ferris, Partner at Jones Robertson LLP; Geraint Edwards, Solicitor at Gwynedd County Council; Joshua Simpson, Trainee Solicitor at Swayne Johnson LLP; Judge David Williams, Judge of the Upper Tribunal; Keith Wilding, Tribunal Judge.
