Bangor University Archives on the Cerys Matthews show

Remember to tune into Radio 6 Music this Sunday morning between 10.00 and 1.00 (3^rd November 2013).

“Cerys on 6” will feature Dr Alun Withey of the University of Exeter who describes himself as a historian of medicine.

He will be talking about old and ancient recipes and remedies, some of which he discovered at Bangor Archives whilst researching his book, “Physick and the family. Health, Medicine and Care in Wales 1600-1750”.

Many recipe books which are dated pre 1750 contain medicinal remedies for humans as well as animals.

On his visit to Bangor this week, Dr Alun said that he had come across many interesting recipes here and was looking forward to sharing them with the nation this coming Sunday.
