Bangor University soars in World Rankings
Bangor University has risen 60 places in a newly published league table. The University is now listed in 411th position in the world in this year’s influential ‘QS World University Rankings’ (www.topuniversities.com).
Bangor University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor John G Hughes, welcomed the news saying:
“Bangor University really makes its presence felt around the globe. The University provides education and research of high quality which makes a valuable contribution both regionally and on the world stage. This table reinforces our increasingly international reputation.”
This international success follows Bangor’s recent success in the National Student Survey (NSS), which reflects the University’s focus on overall student experience. The results, released in August 2015, places Bangor in the Top 10 of UK universities for student satisfaction for the second year in succession.
Research at Bangor University has also been highly rated in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework which recognised over three-quarters of Bangor’s research as either “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”.
The QS Subject Rankings were launched in 2011 and provide a guide to a range of popular fields of study in universities around the world. The compilers evaluate thousands of universities and ranks institutions based on the combined responses from academics and employers around the world, as well as citations measures.
