Bangor University Website shortlisted for Award
Bangor University’s Website has been shortlisted for the Best Website Award in the annual Heist marketing awards.
These annual awards are the principal awards for the HE marketing sector, and the winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in July.
The website has recently received a ‘makeover’ and has been designed to be adaptive for use on smartphones, tablets and computers, and provides an exciting and interactive experience for visitors. It also features content in a number of languages in addition to both Welsh and English. It can be found at www.bangor.ac.uk
Professor John G Hughes, Bangor University’s Vice Chancellor said:
“Our website is an essential resource and is often the first point of call for anyone interested in Bangor University. Indeed, nearly half of our international students quoted our website as the main influence on coming to the University. The new site is bright, colourful and great to use on mobiles and tablets. I’m delighted that the site has been shortlisted for the Heist Awards.”
With over 60,000 pages in the site, designing and preparing the site has been a substantial piece of work. The new look was produced by design company Roundhouse, in consultation with the University’s Web Team, made up of Communications & Marketing and Information Services staff and consultation with other key staff from the University.
Bangor University’s Communications and Marketing team was short listed last year for the best Postgraduate Prospectus in the UK at the same Awards for marketing in education.
The team also won an Award for its Annual Report in 2012 and second place in 2011 for its Undergraduate Prospectus at another awards ceremony. In addition Bangor was shortlisted for Marketing Department of the Year in 2010.
