Developing an active citizenry
The School for Lifelong Learning, in partnership with European colleagues, is about to begin the two year long CITCOM project.
Funded via Europe's Lifelong Learning Programme (Grundtvig) the Partnership, led by Shan Ashton, will be researching the idea of citizenship, its limitations and positive alternatives. The team will be using a community development approach with informal and non-formal learning at the centre, developing processes that can potentially build a more active, knowing and inclusive citizenry.
The partnership includes organisations from Italy, Romania, Czech Republic, France, Lithuania as well as Wales.
