Guardian League Tables 2019 results
Bangor University is placed 47th in the latest Guardian League Tables for 2019, capping off another successful year for the University.
The League Tables which provide a source of information to prospective students, is largely based on student experience of their course, teaching and feedback, among other measures. In the overall League Table, Bangor University has the third highest score for student satisfaction, and the sixth highest for satisfaction with feedback. This reflects the University’s own focus on providing an excellent student experience.
Bangor University is the only Welsh University to achieve a national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold Award, the highest rating possible. The TEF found that strong areas at Bangor include student engagement, teaching & assessment practices, personalised support and these are borne out by this latest table.

Bangor University appears in 22 tables according to the subjects taught at the University and appears within the top 30 in 13 of those subject lists. Most notably, Bangor is placed fourth in the UK in the Agriculture Forestry & Food subject table, which covers eight related degree course options, and eighth in the UK for Sports Sciences, which covers 13 degree tracks at Bangor University.
The eleven other subject areas appearing within the first 30 in each list are Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, Earth & Marine Sciences, Engineering, English & Creative Writing, Law, Modern Languages & Linguistics, Music, Nursing, Philosophy, Social Policy & Administration.
