Maes Glas hosting the Wales U21 team for Training
Following the success of hosting Finland's U21 Football team for training before their match against Wales in August, Bangor University will be the training base for the Wales U21 football team before two games this month. The Wales U21 squad take on Lithuania and San Marino at Bangor City’s BookPeople Stadium and the team will be using Bangor University's Treborth pitches to prepare before the games.
Both games are UEFA U21 championship qualifying matches and will be played on October 11th and 15th. Kick off is 2pm on both days. Richard Bennett Sports Director of Bangor University said “We are privileged to be hosting another international team for training and hope that our Treborth pitches will enable them to prepare for these important games. Hosting the U21s also shows how our partnership with Bangor City is helping to bring top-flight football to North Wales”.
