Movember Charity Football Match
Staff from Bangor University will compete in a charity football match to help raise money for Movember, a charity that raises vital funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
Staff from the University’s Maes Glas sports centre will be competing against a team of security staff on Sunday 24th November at the Maes Glas astro pitch. Kick off will be at 11 am and everyone is most welcome to come and support the teams.
Richard Bennett, Director of Sport and Recreation, said: “Maes Glas is very happy to host this game between our staff and the Security team. Whilst we all work together during the day I’m sure once the referee’s whistle goes both team will be very keen to end as victors. I’m sure that the Maes Glas team will ensure that their reputation as the home of sport on campus will be upheld and all in the name of a good cause.”
Both teams have been donated their strip by Sional Promotional Merchandise who are based in Llanfairfechan.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. Movember challenges men to grow a moustache for the 30-days of November, thereby changing their appearance and the face of men’s health. Not only does Movember raise awareness, but the campaign also inspires many to raise funds through various fun-packed activities across the country.
