Psychology students compete in final round of 'The Pitch'
A team of three postgraduate students from the School of Psychology were runners up in the final round of The Pitch, a UK wide business plan and marketing challenge held on October 3rd in London.
Teams from all over the UK submitted videos online - and the judges selected the top 4 to come to London and present "live" at the big event.
The multinational group of Bangor postgraduate Consumer Psychology students included Chinmay Tamhaney (India), Charlotte Alexander (Canada) and Daniel Beltran (Colombia). They competed under the team name [in]tangible assets. They presented their campaign, “Social Media and the Psychology of Carton”, to the judges, looking at promoting the use of cartonboard across retailers.
James Intriligator, the team's mentor and Senior Lecturer in Consumer Psychology at Bangor, said: "The team did a fantastic job against very tough competition. The judging panel – many of whom have been judging for years –said how the four finalists were excellent and the highest calibre they have ever seen.”
Daniel Beltran, 27, from Colombia, said: “I'm glad that we can show the great contribution that psychologist can make to marketing in terms of research and developing new strategies.”
