REF 2014: world class quality confirmed.
The Head of the School of Creative Studies and Media has welcomed the results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
Head of School Dr Eben Muse said that the School had performed exceptionally well, with 81% of the School’s joint submission with the School of Music judged to be world leading (4*) or Internationally Significant (3*).
He said that the results related to Impact and academic environment were exceptionally pleasing, as the School achieved 100% in the 3 and 4* category for Impact and 90% for environment. Research areas covered a broad range of subjects including digital media, journalism and film studies.
Dr Eben Muse said “These results are a strong endorsement of the School’s approach to the integration of teaching and research. When you place this alongside our very strong performance in the National Student Survey, the School of Creative Studies and Media is really one of the best places to come and study the wide range of subjects we offer.”
