Ruby Wax takes a look at Mental Health Day art project
University Mental Health Day 2016 took place on campuses across the UK on Thursday 3rd of March.
Here at Bangor University, as part of the Student Mental Health Strategy, students and staff across the University teamed up to provide a number of activities on the day that welcomed everybody.
Ruby Wax, renowned for her campaigns to raise awareness about mental health and mindfulness visited the interactive art project for students- ‘This is my Universe’ in Pontio.
‘We’d like to thank both Ruby Wax for taking time out of her busy touring schedule to support us, and the Bangor Alumni Fund, whose generous donation made this project possible’ said Kate Tindle, Head of Counselling and Chair of the Student Mental Health Strategy Group.
‘We were thrilled that so many students got involved in the events on the day, which also included an all-day mental health drop-in and advice session, live music provided by staff and students from the School of Music, mindfulness, and the launch of a UK-wide research questionnaire looking at student mental health.’
