The Scribblers Tour
Schools from across Gwynedd and Conwy are taking part in an inspiring day of events with writers in the first ever Scribblers Tour.
Focusing on literacy and the environment, a tour of writers visited Bangor University, for a day of events with school children from Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, Ysgol David Hughes, Ysgol Eifionydd, Ysgol Glan y Môr, Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, Ysgol Tryfan and St Gerard's. The event aims to inspire and encourage teenagers to get creative and get writing themselves.
The event is part of a tour that visited seven universities across Wales in February and March 2012 and hosted upwards of 10,000 secondary school pupils from throughout Wales. The project is free to all schools.
The line-up of award-winning authors on the live literature and creative writing tour included Patrick Ness, Saci Lloyd, Melvin Burgess, Andrew Hammond, Marcus Alexander, Jenny Valentine, Phil Earle, Prof. Mark Brake, Jon Chase, Joss Sterling, Charlie Higson, JD Sharpe, Irfan Master and Cathy Brett.
