Bangor University’s environmental policy sets targets to reduce the environmental impact of its activities. As part of this process, the University has audited the environmental impact of activities such as construction and refurbishment, energy use, transport and sustainable procurement. The commitment of the University to integrate sustainability into the academic curriculum mirrors the efforts made to incorporate sustainability into Bangor’s environmental policies.
For a number of years, staff and students in the School of Environment, Natural Resources and Geography (SENRGy) have been at forefront of championing Bangor University’s green agenda and contributing to the development of green initiatives including waste reduction and sustainable transport.
Prof. Morag McDonald, Head of School for SENRGy commented that “issues surrounding sustainability, green technology and climate change feature strongly in a number of SENRGy’s degree programmes and it’s great to see the wider-Universities efforts to be a more environmentally-friendly institution being recognised.”
