TOP students enjoy learning languages
During July a group of postgraduate students from the School of Modern Languages at Bangor University hosted sessions for schools participating in the Talent Opportunities Programme. The secondary schools that came to Bangor University to take part were: Ysgol Bryn Elian; Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni; Holywell High School; Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen and Ysgol Glan y Môr and there were approximately 15 pupils in each group. Students had the opportunity to learn some language facts and about studying languages at Bangor University. They took part in a taster session of a new language, learning numbers and enjoying playing heated rounds of bingo. They also had the opportunity to take part in a ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ style quiz. At the end of the day each participant took home some language resources provided by Routes into Languages and Europe Direct. The feedback from the schools was extremely positive and it was great to see the pupils so enthused by language learning!
