Ysbyty Gwynedd Mile
Hundreds of local people will be joining in the annual Ysbyty Gwynedd Mile, in aid of Sport Relief, being held at 12pm at the Arfon Athletics Track at Bangor University’s Treborth playing fields on Sunday, March 25th.
Entrants have chosen to run one, three or six miles, individually or as teams, to raise money for Sport Relief. The event at Bangor is one of hundreds that will be held across the country. The money raised is spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
Richard Bennett, Director of Sport and Recreation at Bangor University, said: "Bangor University is pleased to be working with our partners at Gwynedd Council and Ysybty Gwynedd to make sure that this years' Sport Relief is the biggest and best yet.
“With over 400 people already registered to attend the event on Sunday 25th March the event promises to be a great day out for all the family.
“Bangor University's Normal site will be used as a park and ride venue for the event which is being held at the Treborth track and playing fields. University security and housekeeping staff will be working hard to keep everyone safe and make sure the event runs smoothly and student volunteers from Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences will be helping marshall the runners on the day."
