In a celebration of academic excellence, Bangor University proudly hosted its December graduation ceremony, a key event in the school's yearly calendar. The formal ceremony was held on Thursday, 14 December 2023. The occasion not only honoured the graduates who successfully completed master's courses in Computing, Electronics, and Design but also successful graduating PhD students.
The academic staff, directors, and head of school, extend their heartfelt congratulations to the accomplished graduates. The event highlights the significant impact of their scholarly achievements. At the event students had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with academics. After the ceremony. Many photographs were taken, including an all-student group photograph taken outdoors, despite the chilly weather. There was a warmth that permeated the event, symbolizing not only the resilience of the graduates but also the enduring bonds formed within the academic community. Following the event, the students and staff enjoyed cake, tea, and coffee, back in Dean Street, and the conversations continued.
As the graduates embark on diverse trajectories, a new chapter unfolds for everyone. Some have already ventured into promising new job opportunities, utilizing the knowledge and skills that they developed during their course. Others have chosen to pursue further study by undertaking Ph.D. studies, contributing to the ongoing academic discourse within their respective fields. Concurrently, some graduates have seamlessly transitioned into roles within the software industry, applying their expertise to real-world challenges. Yet, for those still navigating the landscape of employment opportunities, the journey continues with the promise of new horizons.
Dr Iestyn Pierce, head of school, expressed his pride in the students' achievements, saying,
I am immensely proud of each of our students, for their dedication and accomplishments. As they embark on their next steps, I wish them success in their future endeavours, be it in further academic study, exciting new roles, or the pursuit of fulfilling careers. I have every confidence that these graduates of Bangor University will make significant contributions in their chosen fields.
