Midwifery: Interview and Selection

If your application to study is accepted, we will invite you for an interview. An offer to study with us will only be made after a successful interview.

All invitations to interview are issued through UCAS. Below you will find important information about the interview.

All interview days will be held on campus in Bangor which will allow you to give the best account of your skills, previous experiences and character and which will help us get to know you and decide whether you will thrive at Bangor University. Meeting the academic team and being on campus will also enable you to see some of our facilities, understand as much as possible about how we work with our students and what it means to become a Bangor University student midwife.

  • Dates: Wednesday 4th December, Wednesday 18th December, Wednesday 15th January, Wednesday 5th February, Wednesday 5th March
  • Location: School of Health Sciences, Fron Heulog, Bangor, LL57 2EF

You will need to arrive in Bangor to register at 09:00 am with proof of ID (Passport or Driving licence) and proof of GCSE qualifications or any Level 3 qualifications. The interview process will start at 9:30 am and will end by approximately 3:00pm.

Please respond to your interview invitation via UCAS within two weeks via one of the following options:

  • Register to attend the interview
  • Select "I cannot attend" and await alternative dates
  • Contact us at health.applications@bangor.ac.uk to discuss other options.

Failure to respond within two weeks of the interview invitation being issued may result in your application being made unsuccessful.

If none of the available dates work for you, select "I cannot attend these dates". We will make every effort to offer alternative slot, however availability cannot be guaranteed. Missing all available dates may result in your application being unsuccessful - attending an interview is a requirement for the selection process.

What Happens After the Interview?

We will contact you through UCAS with the outcome of your interview.  While we endeavour to contact applicants as soon as possible, we will be holding a large number of interviews and decisions may take 2-3 weeks. If you are successful at interview, it is important that you read any conditions of the offer and instructions on what to do next carefully. It is important that you respond to any requests for information within specified time frames. All offers will be subject to satisfactory DBS and health checks.
