When a candidate who is a student at your school/college submits an application for the Bangor University Entrance Scholarship, you will receive an email with the name of the student and which subject paper they have chosen to sit.
When applying for the Entrance Scholarship, candidates are asked to inform the relevant members of staff at their school/college that they are applying and confirm that the school/college is willing to arrange the appropriate supervision/invigilation for the Entrance Scholarship examination.
Details of the examination arrangements will be circulated to the schools/colleges involved after the closing date for applications, Friday, 31st January, 2025.
The examination will be held at the candidates’ school/college on Wednesday, 12th February. Candidates will be required to sit an examination in one academic subject (of their choice) either in the morning or in the afternoon, it is for the school/college to decide. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take the examination on any other day regardless of individual circumstances. The examination paper is of two hours duration unless stated otherwise.
Upon receipt of the examination papers, Examination Officers are asked to check whether the attached examination papers match those on the list in the accompanying email, and if not, to get in touch as soon as possible via email so that it can be sorted before the day of the examination.
Adjustments for candidates wishing to sit the Entrance Scholarship exam who have specific requirements are allowed. Arrangements will normally be the same as what candidates would receive for their school/college examinations, as approved by their Examinations Officer.
The examination is a paper-based examination. Candidates should use lined paper and fasten the sheets together. Please ensure that candidates write their full name, school/college and subject paper on each piece of paper.
After the examination, we ask that you please return the scripts in one of two ways. Please either scan the scripts and return them via email and then send the original scripts in the post (in case of issues with the scanned copy), or post the original scripts either by 1st class or registered post to arrive NO LATER THAN Friday, 14th February.
Marking schemes are not available for the examinations.
