Contractor Event - Henfaes Research Centre
CEB+ Refurbishment Works
Bangor University is currently finalising a business case to request funding from the North Wales Growth Deal to expand its Centre of Environmental Biotechnology.
This project will explore the use of biological processes as low carbon alternatives to products and industrial manufacturing processes. The project will research unique enzymes and how they can transform into products that have less impact on the environment than current materials and industrial chemicals. This will support uptake of lower impact manufacturing technologies by businesses and work towards decarbonisation.
The proposed funding will be used to:
- Purchase additional equipment to establish a new microbial culture scale-up facility to support the planned development of the Centre for Environmental Biotechnology (CEB+)
- Refurbish space at Henfaes Research Centre (Abergwyngregyn), to create a new workshop housing a scale-up facility, enhanced lab facilities and an upgraded business facing area.
Contractor Event
Bangor University and project partners would like to invite interested contractors to visit the site at Henfaes to discuss the plans and the requirements of the tender process.
Contractors will be required to consider carbon reduction and biodiversity options as part of their tender submissions, as well as being asked to offer social value contributions to the project via a Themes, Outcomes and Measures framework. This event will be an opportunity to discuss these requirements.
If you would like to attend the Contractor Event, please complete the online form and return to Olivia Cahill, Procurement Administrator before 11th April 2024. This information will only be used to ascertain the likely number of firms attending.
