Language is à Virus: A Chile-Wales Sound Poetry Contagion
If language is a virus, as William Burroughs famously suggested, sound poetry is its most contagious form. This multilingual performance unites poets and artists whose work explores language, sound and collaborative improvisation to discover new possibilities for dialogue between human senses, technology and the material universe, from the microscopic to the cosmic.
In a varied evening of solo and collaborative work, Andrés Anwandter, Martín Bakero, Felipe Cussen, Nia Davies, Adrian Fisher, Luna Montenegro, Zoë Skoulding and Rhys Trimble share their infectious enthusiasm for language as a sound source in all its mutations and variants.
The event is supported by a Bangor University Impact and Innovation Award, Placing Experiment, led by Prof Zoë Skoulding and Dr Sarah Pogoda of the School of Arts, Culture and Language.
