Chris Drew, Head of Strategic Partnerships & Projects
Chris heads up the Strategic Partnerships and Projects team and leads the University’s relationships across a range of regional partnerships. He has an extensive history of research and innovation support including project development, project management, policy development and collaborative partnership development and spanning the operational, legal and strategic implementation of projects and programmes. That experience includes highly successful grant capture across the academic spectrum including new programme development, pan-Wales research programmes as well as project targeted at technology development and exploitation pathways. Successful programmes have secured pan-Wales Wales research opportunities, academic infrastructure, technology development and technology transfer, knowledge exchange and regional development funding campaigns and all aligned with the University’s strategic priorities.
Chris currently leads a small team delivering a range of strategic initiatives and projects across the University’s portfolio and delivering at the interface between capital programmes, strategic change in research and teaching.
In addition, Chris leads on the University’s relationships with partners across UK but in Wales including Further education and Higher Education Partnerships again spanning teaching, innovation, commercial and regional development activity. These activities sit alongside the day-to-day support provided for these relationships across the Professional Services and look to maximise mutual benefit from the strategic potential these relationships offer.
