Make Feedback Go Further

At Bangor, we want you to work with us on making your education the best it can be. That’s why we work closely with your Students’ Union and conduct a range of surveys to give you the chance to have your say. There are many ways for you to get involved, from filling in a survey to becoming a course rep in your school.

Below are some of the surveys that you can take part in at various stages of your course and after your graduation:

5.3 million students have shared their views and helped to inspire change in universities and colleges since the NSS was launched in 2005. Conducted by an independent company, the survey is aimed at final-year undergraduates and asks you to provide feedback on your time as a student.

The NSS is a comprehensive survey that runs from January to April. If you're eligible to participate, Ipos Mori, the independent company conducting the survey, will reach out to you during this period.

Information from the NSS is published on www.unistats.ac.uk to help prospective students choose which universities to apply to.

The PTES is for taught postgraduate students, exploring your experience of learning and teaching, skills development, organisation, resources, and engagement with the course. PTES takes place every year between March and June. You will be contacted via email if you are eligible to take part.

The PRES is designed for postgraduate research students, giving you a chance to share your views on your experience of supervision, the research environment, and your development as a researcher. PRES takes place every year between March and May. You will be contacted via email if you are eligible to take part.

At the end of each semester, you’ll be given the chance to fill in a module evaluation form. Your lecturers will ask you to go online (to MyBangor) and have your say. The feedback is used to create action plans to celebrate best practices and address any areas of improvement.

Look out for updates from your lecturers or school about how they’ve used student feedback—you might be surprised at just how much change has taken place!

The Croeso Survey is open to all first-year undergraduate students and taught postgraduate students and asks about your experience of Welcome Week.

If you're a final year and an undergraduate student at the university and you haven't yet completed the analysis, here are five reasons to do so.

To the NSF is a national student survey that students complete across the UK in their final year, and it's your chance to share your views on your teaching, the academic support, and your course as a whole.

Your response really matters as the university analyses the results and the college level and the class level and the university as a whole, and this will help you to know what you're doing well and what you're not doing well to for longer shifts.

Action plans in place. So the NSS is run by an external organisation for the office for students and it's completely anonymous.

You can say exactly how you feel. Your feedback with our future students, as they can see what you thought about your course when applying to the university.
