We have compiled a list of questions that are asked by new students.
Who can help me find a job?
The Skills and Employability Service (Careers) will help you find part-time work, update your C.V and prepare you for interviews. Email careers@bangor.ac.uk or visit their stall today.
When will I get my timetable?
You will get your timetable in welcome week when you meet with your academic school.
How do I register?
You will have been emailed details of registration. There are 2 stages: an on-line enrolment form and an ID checking process. See page 16 of your Welcome Diary.
When do I get my library card?
You will get this when you have registered and confirmed your identity, as long as you’ve provided a photo.
When do I get my funding?
The first instalment of your learning grant / maintenance loan is paid 3-4 working days after you have registered and confirmed your identity. If you have a tuition fee loan from Student Finance that will be paid directly to the university not to you.
Will I get a bursary?
Your eligibility is based on information already provided to the student loans company. If you are eligible a letter will be sent in February and you will get paid from the 1st of March.
Personal Tutors
You should get a personal tutor within your first few weeks of term. If you don’t, contact your school administrator.
