Person centred approach to decision making when working with people with a learning disability. Application of Social Policy in relation to people with a learning disability (Social Services and Well being Act) Legal and ethical considerations including Mental Health Act Law Application of the Mental Capacity Act in relation to people with a learning disability.
Reactive management strategies in relation to behaviour that challenges Working in multi-agency teams / case coordination to provide holistic person centred support to people with a learning disability across the lifespan.

-threshold -Grades: D- to D+ Understanding of the facts and principles specific to the topics covered in this module and the outcomes being assessed. Students will be required to achieve a minimum of D- grade in the assignment to in order to pass.

• Critically debate a range of theories underpinning nursing decision making in learning disability nursing.

• Critically evaluate the impact of patient safety policy and management of risk in relation to individual‘s care across a range of settings relevant to learning disability nursing.

• Identify, select, assess and critically evaluate the nature of informed decisions, risk assessment and hazard avoidance in learning disability nursing
