Overview

Introduction to Research Colloquium and assessment.
-
Workshops/Colloquia relevant to student research topic in Business and Management area held on weekly basis (student must attend at least five research colloquia per semester). The Business School operates two seminar series (i) Business, Management and Marketing; and (ii) Accounting, Banking, Economics and Finance.
Students are required to attend these seminar series.
Assessment Strategy
-threshold -Satisfactory standard (50-59%): No major omissions or inaccuracies in the deployment of information/skills.Some grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements.Integration of theory/practice/information present intermittently in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives.
-good -Average Standard (60-64%):Much of the relevant information and skills mostly accurately deployed.Adequate grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements.Fair integration of theory/practice/information in the pursuit of the assessed work's objectives.Some evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills.High Standard (65-69%):Very good performance.Most of the relevant information accurately deployed.Good grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elementsGood integration of theory/practice/information in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives.Evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills.

Learning Outcomes
- Critically appraise the contribution and methodological rigour of their personal and peer research within the Business and Management discipline.
- Demonstrate reflective learning skills based on personal and peer work through attendance at the school seminar series.
- Summarise and present an overview of the proposed research project.
- Understand and appreciate the relevance of the specific research area to current developments in business and management.
