The Fourth International Conference on Women’s Work in Music
School of Music, Drama and Performance, Bangor University, Wales,
4–6 September 2023 (In Person and Online)
Following on from our first three Conferences (2017, 2019, 2021), we are pleased to announce that the Fourth International Conference on Women’s Work in Music will take place on 4–6 September 2023. Hosted by Bangor University’s Department of Music, Drama and Performance, the conference will be offered as a hybrid event this year, with participants able to attend either in person or online.
The Women’s Work in Music Conferences celebrate the achievements of women musicians and aim to critically explore and discuss the changing contexts of women’s work in music on the international stage. These conferences bring together scholars, composers, performers and music professionals from around the world to share their research and experience of all aspects of women working in music, past, present and future.
Groups, Communities and Networks
The conference theme this year is women musicians’ groups, communities and networks, and we are delighted that Professor Laurie Stras will be giving a Keynote Presentation on early modern women’s religious and musical networks. Our second Keynote Speaker will be confirmed in due course, together with details of the Music Industry Panel and Conference Concert.
