Why Bangor?
I had been looking for universities across the UK with all the necessary facilities and reputed rankings, and I found Bangor University had facilities and ranked in all perspective of the required areas. Furthermore, Bangor University has a strong Business School, and I intend to pursue under some of the country's best minds. It also offers the specialisation I’m looking for, as well as the opportunity to accelerate my education.
The International Ambassador Scheme
It provides me with the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge to international students across the globe just like I have received from past students, thus adding value to the university and enhancing my career potentials. As a Student Ambassador I can get involved with many different types of work allowing me to develop my skills and networking.
What is the most difficult thing about being an International Student?
How challenging it can be to move out of home, feel homesick, and adapt to the new culture, environment (in my perspective my home is hot the whole year, but living in Wales there can be different seasons in a day/week, which can be a little daunting at times), and tackling university with these factors in mind can be quite challenging. But with the university support and facilities I am overcoming these quite easily.
The Course
I have always been interested in business in general and Accounting and Finance are the language of business I believe, and one cannot tell how well a company is running and how healthy it is without understanding the accounting and financial situation. So this course will be a key for me to be a star player in an organisation where I work for or even to have my own business and be successful.
The Lecturers
During the first semester I learned new techniques and strategies in the field of accounting and finance. The professors presented the subject matter very clearly and structures are great. The professors, tutors and supporting staff are very helpful and approachable at any time.
Clubs and Societies
I have engaged with Peer guides and the Business society so far and I have attended a couple of meetings as well. It’s a great opportunity to get involved with different people, and I have learnt new skills which are out of my syllabus. Now helping international students who are willing to come to the UK for further education and supporting them with the experience and knowledge that I have gained so far.
The best thing about Bangor
We get all the characteristics of a perfect international university, when you combine a fantastic and inexpensive location, a phenomenal learning experience, world-class programmes, and a strong job support system. I will especially miss the professors and friends who supported me during the programme when I leave, but in the modern world everyone is just a click away. This peaceful city and life I will miss also.
Support from the University
Student Services and tutors are extremely supportive during the semester and specially library staffs have been responding and arranging the books on time even during the lockdown.
Advice for new International students

The Future
The purpose of pursuing an MSc in Accounting and Finance in this university is to gain international exposure. My short-term plan would be to complete my masters and gain field knowledge and international exposure as much as possible. The knowledge and skills that I am expecting to get throughout this program will build my professional career. After completing the Accounting and Finance MSc, I want to work in a company where I can practically apply my knowledge and skills gained throughout the program, and to be a real asset in a corporate environment.
